Our Read the Bible in a Year emphasis saw a most impressive launch on September 23. Over 300 daily reading schedule booklets have been handed out and nearly 200 individuals have put their name in the Choose Life! Challenge signup book. The program has even caught the attention of other congregations, and samples have been sent to them. Folks have been calling and coming into the church office to share their delight and gratitude. People have been attending the Bread for the Journey Sunday and Wednesday evening connection times bringing new insights and great questions. Husbands and wives are reading the Bible together, some small groups have adopted it into their meeting time, and everyone is finding the gift of coming to know God’s voice through the reading of his word. It’s all about establishing a consistent habit of Bible reading in order to develop a closer and deeper daily relationship with God so that he may continue to transform our hearts and minds, bless our lives and grow our faith. And if we’re careful, he’ll even grow the church. If you haven’t joined in yet, it’s never too late. More people are picking up the Daily Reading Schedule booklet every day and it’s easy to get right into the groove. Just do it. It’s a great choice!
